Q: Why am I alaways late for meetings?
A: One of two things is happening. You are thinking that an hour meeting is only an hour of time, or you think you can squeeze one more action item in before you are scheduled to leave.

When you schedule a meeting also schedule:

  • Preparation time (to gathering needed materials),
  • Travel time: (travel to, from and "buffer" time which is 1/3 of total time one way)
  • Completion time: (for data entry, filing and follow-up)

When it is time to leave for a meeting, leave. Don't take one more
phone call or you will be late.
